So, this weekend I had a 20% off coupon to use at Sephora. I’m not sure if this was only available to VIB’s or all Beauty Insider’s. If you aren’t aware, (and I wasn’t aware myself until recently) Sephora has three levels of their rewards membership. Anyone can register for a Beauty Insider membership, which gets you rewards as you rack up points and includes you in special offers. After you spend an embarrassing amount of money at Sephora, you become qualified to be a Very Important Beauty Insider (VIB). An even more embarrassing sum gets you VIB Rouge status. Let’s not talk about that though, shall we? I try not to think about how much I am personally keeping Sephora in business. Continue reading
Disappointing purchases, it has happened to us all, one way or another. If you are like me, you research everything to death before you buy it. Sometimes though, a bad egg manages to slip through. Whether it’s an impulse buy that just doesn’t pan out, or a product that doesn’t live up to expectations despite best efforts to research it thoroughly; from time to time, we are stuck with a product that we just don’t love. Here is a small handful of the products that I wanted to love, but just couldn’t. I had a hard time coming up with products because if I hate something, I either give it away or get rid of it. However, these are the few that I can remember.
Happy June everyone! I can’t believe that May is over…yikes! I don’t know about you, but a lot happened during the month of May, and now I am ready to head into the hazy, crazy, lazy days of summer with June. To kick off this month, I have decided to participate in the June Beauty Blog Challenge, otherwise known as #JuneBBC. This is an idea started by Girl Friday over on her blog where there is a topic everyday that acts as a prompt for a post. If you would like to know more about this challenge, or to view the list of daily topics, you can check out the original post here. Today’s topic is: Favourite eyeliner.
Boom. There they are folks. I thought it best to provide my favorite liquid and pencil eyeliners so as to cover all of my bases. First up to bat is the Milani Liquif’eye Metallic Eye Pencil. Originally, I was going to choose the Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner Pencil, but after some careful thought, I realized that this pencil is just as amazing at a fraction of the price! This eyeliner is a dream. It is so smooth, so creamy, and so incredibly pigmented. It smudges well if you work quickly, but after about 30 seconds, this eyeliner will set and then it will not budge. Such an awesome product. You can find Milani products in-store at Ulta and some drugstores, or online at Milancosmetics.com. Next up, is my Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Perversion. Oh lord. This eyeliner is amazing, I cannot say enough good things about it. Is it waterproof? Check. Is it pigmented? Double-check. Is it long lasting? Double-triple-quadruple check! Seriously, I am sitting here, with the swatches still on my hand, and no matter how much I rub, scratch, or claw, that bad boy is going nowhere. Oh, and speaking of swatches, here they are:
On the left, is the Milani pencil eyeliner in Black and on the right is the Urban Decay liquid liner in Perversion. These swatches are just one quick coat of each, and as you can see, they are both the blackest of black.
Well, that is all for my first day of #JuneBBC. What do you think? If you would like to join me in doing this, I would love to know! Let me know of any posts that you do for this challenge!
Like anyone who has spent more than five minutes as a beauty blogger, I’ve noticed how everyone seems to do their own version of a “Monthly Favorites” post. And, if you are anything like me, you look forward to the onslaught of these posts at the end of every month. So, to add to the pile, I am starting my own series of monthly favorites posts. Yay!
