#JuneBBC Day 5 || Favorite Foundation

Favorite foundations

Happy hump day everyone! We’ve made it halfway through another work week – only two more days until the weekend! Today’s topic for #JuneBBC is favorite foundation and I have chosen one drugstore and one high end product to show you.

  • Revlon’s Colorstay Foundation for Oily/Combination Skin in Buff – I have skin that is normal on my cheeks and fairly oily throughout my T-zone. This foundation provides amazing coverage and truly helps to control the oil on my face. At $11.99 it is on the pricier side of drugstore, but there are ALWAYS buy one, get one 50% off sales going on so you can at least get a bargain!
  • Make Up For Ever’s Mat Velvet + in Ivory – this is my holy grail foundation. I cannot express in words how much I adore this stuff. It is another matte finish foundation, like the Colorstay, but the coverage looks slightly more natural. This is also the perfect shade match for me so every time I use it, I am incredibly pleased with the results. At $36.00 this is a pretty expensive foundation, but a little goes a very long way, and one bottle will last you quite a while.

What are your favorite foundations? Have you tried either of these? See you tomorrow for Day 6 of #JuneBBC!

  1. The Revlon foundation is a bit of a toss up for me at the moment. Sometimes, I think it’s lovely, others I am wondering why I bought it. I can’t make up my mind about it. I did transfer it to a pump bottle the other day though. It makes life so much easier.

    • My biggest complaint about the COlorstay is always the packaging, I hate it! Was it easy for you to transfer it to a new bottle, or did it make a huge mess in the process? I find that if a use a beauty blender to apply the foundation, it is a little thinner and more even but still gives good coverage, if that helps!

      • It wasn’t too hard actually! It was a bit messy, but not as bad as you would think. It had to be done. I couldn’t even get the foundation out the bottle without a q-tip. If you have a pump bottle, I would just go for it. I’ll try out the beauty blender. It’ll be good to have for other foundations too. Thanks for the tip. 🙂

    • You have to give the foundation a good shake before applying. The oily/combination version sets very quickly actually, so you have to work pretty fast when applying it, as once it sets, it stays put. I’d say this foundation lasts for about 8-10 hours, definitely not the 24 thats on the bottle, but still a pretty long time!

  2. You made me really want to try the mufe one! I tried revlon and i do like it but the shades are not perfect. I used a foundation finder by ps beauty, which is pretty cool and got few personalised recommendations – mufe foundation was one of them that’s why im looking around for reviews.. i need to do my homework before I spend the money on it though:)
